Recently we’ve released Chrome extension that improves New Relic navigation experience, by giving ability to return to time spans you’ve selected previously.
If you running out of time while troubleshooting application performance issues New Relic can help you a lot. Tracing general performace issues and bugs become faster and easier. For fast navigation through the app timeline New Relic added great zoom in feature, when you can select period of time where you want to look closer. And this helps a lot, when you are trying to figure out roots of big response times or localize time span of some set of issues(e.g. 500 errors).
But when you are actively seeking for some info in the timeline and zoom in to a wrong time period, you want to go back to previous time span. To get to the previous selection you have to zoom out and then try to guess where you was previously. To resolve this issue and to have ability to return to previous selections we have created Chrome extension that stores info about time span selections you did and gives ability to return to them in one click.
Once you installed extension it starts saving time span selections and show them in the new tab inside standard New Relic time span selection widget. So you can return to previous of even earlier selections.
