That\u2019s the way you can formally get acceptance of your team\u2019s work and eliminate frustration risks caused by missing functionality. They should be motivated to provide feedback and have enough authority to make key decisions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Product Owner who formally accept product\/feature delivery from the client side must be there. Also, consider inviting representatives of the backend, marketing or customer care teams. As well as any group of internal users interested in the product progress and certain feature delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prepare Script<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Write a demo scenario and script beforehand. It will help presenters to demo feature faster and more precisely. Figuring out things on the fly might not be a good idea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simple Script would look like this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">#User Flow\n- Log as johndoe@gmail.com \/ pass\n- go to Dashboard\n- see available balance\n- show withdrawal process\n- show success\/fail case\n- Logout\n<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<pre class=\"wp-block-preformatted\">#Accountant flow\n- Log as sarahdoe@gmail.com \/ pass\n- Show monthly reporting stats\n<\/pre>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Prepare Presentation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Classic powerpoint presentation will help you structure message and focus your audience on certain topics.<br>You can consider following presentation content<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>team members introduction<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>show demo plan and state which part of demo topics will be interesting to certain attendees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>remind goals of the previous sprint and re-state upcoming sprint focus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>add screenshots of implemented features<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>show business metrics changes during the last iteration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s a way you drive your demo forward with a predefined scenario, control timing and always have Sprint and Demo artifact which is easily sharable to others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Rehearse<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>That is a #must step. You should always rehearse your demo before actual presentation is made. This will prevent you from public disaster when presented functionality is broken. Also, it will actually help to build your scenario for demo script. Just reserve a time slot at least a day before Demo meeting to prepare.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Switch presenters<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Development Sprint was a team journey, so let your teammates present the work they made themselves.<br>Who demo\u2019s what &#8211; needs to be a part of Presentation Plan. As a demo organizer &#8211; make sure that your teammates are comfortable to use demo presentation tools beforehand (hangout, GoTo Meeting, Skype) and commit to that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Control the Conversation and Timing<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>During the demo run, you always need to make sure guests are actually listening. Don\u2019t switch slides until you see that people are engaged and follow you. Don\u2019t let the discussion go too deep or switch to the topics that are not relevant to the goal of your demo. Finally, you can allow attendees try new functionality themselves, if technical setup allows you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Backup Plan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Always have a backup plan!<br>What might happen?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>API team released new unsupported version on stage environment<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>your teammate changed account access password or wasted the one available use case<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>your teammate is suddenly sick, so can\u2019t present his\/her own part<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>So, the above mentioned static presentation is the easiest way. But it is still, good to have demo setup on another (e.g. local\/dev) environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Retrospect or \u201cclose the deal\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Just like in the Sales Call you need to \u201cclose the deal\u201d and summarize conversation. Schedule follow-up, plan the next meeting and ask attendees for feedback. Having your team&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uniqode.com\/digital-business-card\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">digital business cards<\/a> ready to share ensures that participants can easily reach out for any questions post-demo. This will help you adjust the next demo a bit. Consider also uploading demo artifacts: slides, recordings, or sprint notes into your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zendesk.com\/service\/help-center\/client-portal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">client portal<\/a>. This way, stakeholders who couldn\u2019t attend can review progress, and everyone has a single reference point for follow-ups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">and remember<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Every demo is a \u201cSell\u201d of your team, your approach, your service.
