We're looking for a Head of Finance to coordinate all aspects of financial operations in the dynamically growing IT company, operating in a fully international environment. Railsware is a product studio - we combine providing IT consultancy services and creating our own products, such as Mailtrap, Coupler.io, and Smart Checklist for Jira. Here you will get a chance to work in an exciting industry with both types of business and execute company strategy via financial support.

If you can manage a wide scope of projects in a well-structured manner combining both strategic view and hands-on approach, then this position will be a great fit.

What you will work on

Your list of activities will include:

  • Creating financial accounting policy for the sake of clear accounting and enhancing the valuation of Railsware products
  • Managing finances for SaaS Products and IT consultancy
  • Ensuring proper IP rights flow and reflecting them in the Company financials
  • Ensuring all financial operations are performed on time, according to all regulations with a high level of quality
  • Supporting finance infrastructure with the help of the Data Analytics team (databases, tools, and automated processes)
  • Delivering proper management information for the Company management: both middle and C level
  • Hiring, onboarding, training, and managing a team of 4-5 financial specialists and data analysts

Your skills and experience

International Finance

  • Extensive experience in managing various aspects of finance (AR, AP, financial accounting, management accounting, budgeting, payroll, dashboards, treasury) in the international environment (our geography includes UAE, Poland, USA, and Ukraine)
  • Knowledge of core legal aspects of finance (including VAT/Sales taxation, CIT calculations, double-tax treaties, WHT issues, etc.)
  • Knowledge of IFRS and local accounting regulations, such as US GAAP or even PL GAAP
  • Comprehensive understanding of all key business drivers
  • Ability to create and update detailed financial models
  • Experience with audits and approval of financial statements in different jurisdictions

Data analysis and automations

  • Ability to understand consolidated numbers and ask relevant questions to get better outcomes
  • Experience in delivering management information in the form of comprehensive and understandable dashboards
  • Ability to define, implement, and automate various business processes around finance and payroll
  • Advanced skills in Excel or Google Sheets (array formulas, vlookup, hlookup, match, index, sumifs, regex formulas, pivot tables, and similar)
  • Experience with accounting tools, such as Xero, Quickbooks, or similar

Project management

  • Outstanding project management and execution control skills
  • Usage of project management tools, such as Trello or Asana

Team management

  • Experience in managing a team of 4+ people
  • Ability to build, develop, direct, and motivate the team

  • Fluent English (both written and spoken)
  • High level of ethics
  • Outstanding analytical thinking skills and attention to detail
  • Great interpersonal relations and communication skills
  • Ability to take ownership over complex projects and contexts with multiple variables
  • Manage change and accounting practices gradually with resources you have for the sake of result and then craft, not structure for the sake of structure or super long term goals we can’t afford

Your responsibilities

  • Maintain P&L management for products and services
  • Maintain our corporate structure
  • Create a financial accounting policy to enhance the valuation of Railsware products
  • Set up proper processes to document sales of SaaS in the general ledger (deferred revenue, state sales tax, VAT accrual, customer verification, data for analytics)
  • Manage cash flows & debt collection for IT consultancy business
  • Manage entire AP process and payment sources
  • Build and maintain budgeting processes and infrastructure
  • Create and implement financial accounting processes, including the description of the Financial Accounting Policy
  • Conduct regular tax submissions and relevant tax payments
  • Run regular audits in locations where it is required by law
  • Manage and control the compensation payment process
  • Participate in ERP implementation and maintenance processes
  • Manage inventory (fixed assets)
  • Allocate responsibilities and projects between team members
  • Hire, onboard, and train new and current team members
  • Manage the whole scope of financial projects
